DON’T TOUCH ME, I’M HUMAN

My project: ‘’DON’T TOUCH ME, I’M HUMAN’’ argues about the value of touch and has a ethical side.
Due to the pandemic and isolation we are slowly losing touch.
People suffer from touch deprivation which leads to mental and physical
health problems like: anxiety, stress, low self esteem, loneliness and depression.
Which can eventually lead to dehumanizing.
For the sake of the psychical and mental health of human-kind it is very important
to restore touch in a post pandemic world. In order to trigger people to restore touch,
I (as a visual artist and photographer) felt the urge to make this problem visual.
I made this provocation piece to start the awareness by making a dystopian story
that will serve as the trigger for people wanting to restore touch in a post pandemic era.

I created a story about the new robotically way of giving birth.
What if, in the future you will give birth without touching and machines will take
your baby away from you at a conveyor belt.
The baby is going to an isolated incubator room for a long period of time.

For this scenario I designed an installation piece with a small trailer of film and photography stills.
